Are you looking to offer programmes that support families in developing healthy lifestyles?

Employers, hospitality trade and retailers are becoming aware of the value of considering the needs of breastfeeding employees and customers.

Breastfeeding Awareness Training

2 hour highly participative workshop, offering an insight into the world of the breastfeeding mother/family. Encourages staff and managers to:

  • Recognise the benefits to your organisation of being ‘breastfeeding friendly’
  • Identify how your organisation can become more ‘breastfeeding friendly’.
  • Develop awareness and motivation to support breastfeeding staff, clients and customers.

Many SureStart Children’s Centres have projects which increase the uptake and duration of breastfeeding:

  • Breastfeeding peer support projects, with local mothers trained as breastfeeding peer supporters
  • Regular breastfeeding drop-ins at the Children’s Centre with help to overcome breastfeeding difficulties and mother to mother support and encouragement

Baby Ways has experienced breastfeeding specialists who can train and work with your staff and volunteers to deliver breastfeeding services for your clients.

We have a successful track record working directly with mothers who are looking for help to overcome breastfeeding difficulties, facilitating groups, running drop-ins with an emphasis on mother to mother help and support.

For example we could:

  • Support your own staff to run breastfeeding projects, building capacity within your setting
  • Set up a breastfeeding peer supporter project, giving guidance around recruiting, supporting and supervising volunteer breastfeeding peer supporters
  • Deliver training to volunteer breastfeeding supporters
  • Set up and run a regular breastfeeding drop in for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers
  • Train your staff in breastfeeding awareness to ensure that breastfeeding families feel welcome and comfortable in your setting
  • Work with you to develop and implement a breastfeeding friendly policy
